The Portage County Register of Deeds office is combined with Land Description. The County Surveyors office is also located within this department. He serves as a part time elected official with office hours of about 4 hours a week. I have worked in the Register of Deeds office since 1986 and was elected Register of Deeds in 1996. With the County Surveyor located within the department all employees within assist him/customers when necessary. I am/have been involve in many committees within associations on a Local, State and National level dealing with information from recording to land description issues.
